Dear students,
I trust you enjoyed a happy Christmas with your families, and remembered our united family in Christ as in this hymn: 

Star of being, still thy light
Shines before us in the night,
By those radiant beams we find
Christ, the Truth, for all mankind,
Still the tidings angels bring
With their joyful caroling,
Telling that the dawn has come,
​God and man fore’er at one.
(Hymn. 11:2)

I wanted to send a brief message as we look forward to the New Year. 2025! It seemed so far away for so long, and now it’s upon us! Here is a guide for us, to help assess our progress whether looking back or looking forward: 

• To ascertain our progress, we must learn where our affections are placed and whom we acknowledge and obey as God. (SH 239:16–18)
• The purification of sense and self is a proof of progress. (SH 324:4–5)

The foundation for progress is in our daily work. Working with the synonyms, we increase our affections for our Father-Mother. We expose mortal mind’s mockery of our true identity as God’s idea and are able to silence it. This daily prayerful work purifies, strengthens us. And it demonstrates progress through healing.
